Iowa State Senator Jeff Danielson, a Democrat, is serving his second term. His district includes Hudson, Cedar Falls and Waterloo in Black Hawk County, where he also continues his career as a professional firefighter with the City of Cedar Falls.

Jeff is the President Pro Tempore, the youngest in Iowa history.  He chairs the Administration & Regulation budget committee and serves on the Transportation, State Government, Veterans, Appropriations, Rules & Administration committees. 

Senator Danielson is a graduate of Hawkeye Community College.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Public Administration (summa cum laude) from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master's of Public Policy from UNI as well.

Jeff's community leadership and volunteer experience includes being a former Iowa Department of Transportation commissioner and Waterloo Planning and Zoning Commissioner.  He is a board member of the Red Cross, Black Hawk Economic Development, Inc. and the UNI Leadership Advisory Board. His professional memberships include the American Council of Young Political Leaders and the Democratic Leadership Council.

A Navy veteran, Jeff served from 1988 to 1994.  He is married to Kim and has two beautiful children, Brendan and Erin.
