State
Senator Joe Seng is currently serving his second term in the Iowa Senate. He
represents Senate District 43, which includes Davenport in
Scott County. Before his election to the Senate, Seng served one
term in the Iowa House of Representatives.
Senator Seng is chair of the Agriculture &
Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee. He also serves on the Agriculture,
Appropriations, Labor & Business Relations, Natural Resources & Environment,
and Ways & Means committees.
Seng is actively involved in his community, as a member of the Knights of Columbus, NAACP, Terrace Hill Board, and
president of Marquette Academy.
Senator Seng has received many awards and
recognitions, including Past Presidents Award from the Iowa
Veterinary Medical Association and the Golden Apple Award from Marquette
Academy.
Seng graduated from Lost Nation Community
High School and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine
from Iowa State University. He is currently a veterinarian in Davenport.
Senator Seng has one daughter, Heidi, and
two grandsons.
